Market on Morehead
Located at 1001 Morehead Square Drive in South End, Market on Morehead is set to open soon. This venue boasts a 25-foot outdoor TV screen visible from the Rail Trail, offering skyline views and a spacious, dog-friendly patio. The menu features gourmet American fare, including lobster rolls, wings, burgers, and fries. A soft opening for dinner is scheduled for Thursday, May 14, with brunch and lunch services rolling out throughout the month.
Uchi and Uchibā
Plaza Midwood welcomes Uchi and Uchibā, two nationally recognized Japanese restaurant concepts, at 1720 Commonwealth Ave. Uchi, known for its non-traditional Japanese cuisine and omakase experiences, opens on Tuesday, March 31. Uchibā, an izakaya-inspired spinoff, features a rooftop space ideal for social drinks. Both establishments aim to elevate Charlotte’s dining offerings.
Laurel Park
In the SouthPark area, Laurel Park is a new casual upscale restaurant offering New American cuisine. The menu includes house-made pasta, small plates, and unique brunch options. Owned by Dan McCormick, a Michelin Bib Gourmand recipient, and managed by executive chef Bret Faldstein, Laurel Park focuses on connecting global flavors with local agricultural diversity.

Based in Charlotte for over a decade, OooWee BBQ has been named one of the city’s top food trucks multiple times. Known for its flavorful barbecue offerings, OooWee BBQ has expanded to two food trucks and a stand at the Charlotte Motor Speedway.
Queen City Cheesesteaks
For those craving a classic cheesesteak, Queen City Cheesesteaks delivers with a menu featuring the Classic Cheesesteak, Cheesesteak Eggrolls, and Chicken Cheesesteak. The truck operates at various locations, including Kid to Kid on South Blvd and OpenTap on Carmel Center Dr.
