Charlotte’s health and wellness scene is experiencing significant growth, offering residents a variety of options to support both physical fitness and mental well-being.
New Fitness Centers and Studios
Several new fitness facilities have recently opened or are set to open in Charlotte, each bringing unique offerings to the community:
Carbon Performance
Scheduled to open later this summer in Lower South End (LoSo), Carbon Performance is a 45,000-square-foot luxury gym and wellness center. The facility will feature extensive equipment to minimize wait times and cutting-edge recovery services, including cold plunges, saunas, compression boots, Cryolounge chairs, and Theragun treatments. A members-only “Carbon Elite Lounge” will also serve as a co-working and recovery space. Memberships are available in four tiers, starting with access to gym facilities and group training. Located at 3325 S. Tryon St., Carbon Performance exemplifies the trend of fitness centers evolving into comprehensive wellness destinations.
Charlotte Running Co.
Charlotte Running Co. (CRC) is relocating its longtime Dilworth location to the Park Road Shopping Center in fall 2026. The new 4,600-square-foot space, nearly doubling the size of the current location, will serve as a retail store for running gear and include recovery options and a coffee bar. Positioned just off the popular Little Sugar Creek Greenway, the new location aims to be a community hub for runners and fitness enthusiasts.
Drench
Set to open in South End in summer 2026, Drench is a multi-modality fitness and recovery studio offering Lagree, heated sculpt, and kettlebell training under one roof. The facility will house two studios: one heated studio with space for 40 yoga mats and a Lagree studio featuring 10 Mini Pro machines. The design emphasizes luxury and comfort with spa-like touches such as signature scents, cold towels, and moody lighting. Despite the upscale vibe, Drench aims to remain approachable and community-oriented.
